We wanted to draw your attention to this e-petition started by Judith McArdle, calling on the Department for Work and Pensions to ensure that ALL jobseekers are informed of the help they are entitled to whilst out of work.

Unfortunately, many jobseekers are not told about help that could be invaluable to them including travel fares to interviews, free NHS care and free school meals for children.

“The vast majority of people living on benefits already struggle to feed their families and heat their homes, with no disposable income to pay for additional costs. But there is support available while they are looking for work. While it is standard practice to inform jobseekers of what is expected from them, informing them of all available financial assistance is not.”

Make it mandatory for Jobcentre staff to inform every single jobseeker about all financial assistance on offer.
